Basic mushroom preparation

This is very throughout, you really need to only boil for 15-20 mins to get rid of the hydrazine. This is for the careful sensitive ones.

  1. Clean mushrooms in a bowl of water, rinse multiple times until clean, trim blemishes.
  2. Quarter mushrooms, pulse in food processor 6 times until chopped, transfer to pot.
  3. Add 8 cups water to 48 oz mushrooms, adjust water for quantity.
  4. Simmer-boil with cover for 2.5-3 hours, stir occasionally.
  5. Remove cover, boil off liquid if desired, or save broth.
  6. Cool mushrooms in pot.
  7. Drain and store in containers.
